  Kale undertook the development exercise using its unique “Product Way” methodology.
  For business expertise, Kale employed business analysts from the cargo industry. Kale acquired further expertise through consultants and thus combined domain expertise to embed business processes, making the solution truly effective.
  Kale developed standards especially for coding, nomenclature of components, and estimation guidelines.
   
  Project Highlights
  Major milestones in the project execution were:
    The application has been migrated across different versions of Advantage Gen from 4.1 -> 5.1a - > 6.0 -> 6.5 -> 7.0
    Oracle database has been migrated from version 7.1.3 to version 8.3
       
  The development process follows the “build” approach in which all activities are divided into three phases – development, integration and acceptance. The activities in all these phases happen simultaneously rather than in a waterfall approach. This results in better control over the development process.

  For a duration of four months, Kale stationed a team comprising the Project Manager, Technical Manager, Business Analyst and Developers in UK to first comprehend the system.
  After accomplishing the complete groundwork and conducting the due diligence, Kale established the infrastructure to undertake the support and maintenance activities from its Mumbai development facility.
  Kale directly linked into the client systems.
  Kale undertook the support and maintenance activities using its unique “Product Way” methodology.
     
  Key Features
  Revenue accounting is running in a centralized mode but certain activities such as deals, pricing, export billing have been devolved to stations around the world.
  Head Office staff can view data across the network (with suitable security clearance) and users can view/amend data at their stations.
  Stations can determine local deals/pricing and print local invoices.
  On-line action queues for problem transactions allow uninterrupted processing of the invoicing and accounting functions.
