Mr.
Narendra Kale (Mr. N.H. Kale), M.Tech. in Computer Science
from IIT - Kanpur and Advanced Management program from Harvard
University, USA, is one of the known IT experts in
India. Starting his career as a programmer analyst with Tata
Consultancy Services, he moved to University of Pune as Head
of the Systems Group. He was one of the prime movers behind
the establishment of the Computer Science Department at Pune
University.
In 1982, he started Kale Consultants,
a partnership firm, as a consulting practice with
a small work force of two persons. Over the years, N.H. Kale
grew to become a recognized expert in the sphere of IT, particularly
in bank automation. He has been a respected member of various
committees at the industry level - Consultant to the Computerization
Committee of the Indian Banks Association and a member of
the Rangarajan Committee for computerization of Banks. He
has also participated in several other Committees/Working
Groups at the Reserve Bank and the Indian Banks Association.
He has participated in Indian delegations to various countries
to promote software exports.
In 1986, Narendra Kale promoted Kale
Consultants Private Limited along with Mr. Vipul Jain with
the vision of creating application software products. Starting
with a capital of Rs. 1 million and no product expertise,
the company has grown to its present financial position and
more importantly, as India 's leading developer of application
software solutions and services.
In 1992, recognizing the emerging opportunities for software services, Narendra Kale established Silverline along with 4 other IT professionals. He led the company to be among the top 10 software service export organizations in the country. In October 1999, he resigned from Silverline to solely concentrate on Kale Consultants. Since January 2000, he has been devoting all his time towards supporting the growth initiatives of Kale Consultants around the globe.
As the founder of Kale Consultants, N.H.Kale
has provided the company a clear strategic focus and a unique
business model. He has recognized and practiced the importance
of the "value chain" and "Employee Ownership"
