Kale is a comprehensive and well structured cargo management
solution designed to remove the inefficiencies in the ground
operations and give airlines full global control of their
cargo operations.
CSP-OPS® helps
the airlines in planning the build up of flights and maximise
the load factors. It supports technologies like bar codes,
scanners, PDAs. CSP-OPS®
also supports the messages required for Cargo2000 and e-freight
CSP-OPS® is
offered as a standalone package, or alternatively integrated
as part of CSP®
- Kale’s Modern Integrated Enterprise Wide Cargo Solution.
Business
Benefits:
Maximisation
of Load Factors
Through
the use of export planning tools together with
well organised shipment prioritisation, CSP-OPS®
will enable airlines to maximise their load
factors and yields.
Improved
Service to Customers
Shipments
can be fully tracked, giving their latest status
(received, departed on flight etc) down to its
location (either in a warehouse location or
a ULD/Bulk in the warehouse, or on a flight),
giving the airline customer peace of mind.
The planning and manifesting
tools make the likelihood of offloads less frequent,
thus giving an improved performance level.
Integrated
AMS and Airmail - Reducing Cost
CSP-OPS®
is accredited with US Customs and has an in-build
Airmail support, which helps airlines reduce
costs by removing redundant AMS and Airmail
systems, and doing away with the need of double
data entry.
Reduced
Communication Costs
CSP-OPS®
supports multiple forms of communication, including
auto email and auto fax, thus reducing the heavy
costs involved in having traditional networks.
EDI messages can also
be sent using SMTP and received using POP3 protocols.
Minimises
Shipment Irregularities
The Irregularity
and Claims module of CSP®
provides good insight for an airline to identify
the weak links in the operations and improve
upon the same.
Key
Features:
CSP-OPS®
provides an airline with an operations and tracking
system for their cargo stations. It is designed to
operate for both cargo and airmail and allows the
user to work at various levels, such as flight level,
route level, individual consignment level, house waybill
level, etc.
In each of these cases, the user will be working
from modern graphical screens, and has the ability
to quickly drill down to enquire on shipments, providing
details such as house waybills, irregularities,
routing, storage details, build-up details, air
waybill details, etc.
Flight
Planning
Focuses
on functions that allow an airline to plan flight build
up and optimize loads:
Build
Planning - Considers key issues such
as connecting flights, arriving ULDs, special
cargos, routing, etc. The tool helps maximise
space and minimize mixed cargos.
Build Instructions
- Provides the results of the build planning.
The instructions can be sent (auto e-mail or auto
fax) to the warehouse for action.
Unload Instructions
-Supports the automated receipt of the
CPM message, and prints the aircraft unload instructions
for use airside.
Export
Reception Management
Addresses
the arrival of the shipment and papers at a warehouse:
Bookings
- Support for Walk-In bookings (i.e.
Go Shows).
Itinerary Change
- Tool to modify the booked itinerary
to fully utilize capacity .
Receipt of Goods
- Either in part or complete and either
as loose or pre-built in container(s) .
Capture of full air
waybill details.
Capture of house waybill
details .
Export
Operations
Focuses
on functions needed to ensure an export flight is properly
and efficiently built up and dispatched. This includes:
Prioritization
- Allows the user to prioritise individual
shipments, and also the containers that the shipments
are loaded into.
Storage of Goods
On-Hand Listings
- Provides details of all shipments on-hand
for export.
Manifest - Supports
the build up of a manifest, including allocation
to ULD or bulk splitting across ULDs, offloading
(either in total or part), ULD offload etc.
ULD Details/
Build up Actuals - Allows the recording
and display of physical characteristics of ULDs
such as deadload, planned loading deck, overhang,
etc. And supports the transmission of the Unit
Weight Statement for weights and balance.
Import
Operations and Transit Control
Concentrates
on the functions to control the arrival of shipments
from a flight, including both terminating and transit
shipments. For shipments arriving into USA, there is
special handling to manage the interface to US Customs.
The following is included:
Goods
Arrival - Allows the Imports staff to
record the arrival of pieces from a flight at
Master or House level (for a consolidation).
Transferring
shipments - CSP-OPS®
automatically lists all candidates for transfer
to a particular airline or truck operator and
can generate a Transfer Manifest.
Customs Processing
- Provides a display of the customs status for
any shipment.
Document Arrival/
Delivery - Records that the documents
for the shipment have arrived at the station,
and that the physical delivery of the documents
to the consignee or his agent, has been performed.
Goods Delivery
- Records the physical delivery of pieces
to the consignee or his agent, and prints a Proof
of Delivery. The delivery can be at ULD level,
Master level or House level and can be the entire
shipment or part of the shipment.
US
Customs Processing
A
complete integrated sub-system within CSP-OPS®;
it manages and handles the interface to the US Customs
and Border Control ACS (Automated Clearance System).
It supports all relevant EDI messages, and supports
Permit-to-Proceed, In-Bond, Local Transfer, and GO (General
Order) processing.
The AMS functionality of CSP-OPS®
has been fully accredited by US Customs and Border Protection.
Irregularity
Control & Claims Handling
CSP-OPS®
allows capture of irregularities and discrepancies such
as over carried, short shipped, etc. If the irregularity
is ‘physical’ in nature (e.g. damaged cargo
or torn waybill), the user can also record digital photographs
of the cargo or documents.
The CSP-OPS®
Claims Handling functions provide facilities to record
claims details at the airline’s branch offices
and to enable their review at the head office.
Airmail
CSP-OPS®
also supports Airmail operations and the associated
documents, such as AV7s and CN38s. The system supports
the entire life cycle of Airmail including reservation,
mail data capture, mail acceptance, mail manifests,
mail delivery, and mail invoicing (including SPA maintenance,
invoice production, adjustments, and exporting to accounts
receivable).
Track
& Trace
CSP-OPS®
provides the traditional cargo tracking features, giving
the full status of any consignment (both cargo and mail)
on request.
Electronic
Data Interface (EDI) Messaging
CSP-OPS®
has full EDI capability, and supports many different
types of IATA Messages such as Cargo-Imp, Airline Handling
Manual messages, ULD Manual messages and US Customs
messages.
EDI in CSP-OPS®
is supported over traditional type-B messaging communications,
or over SMTP.
"The
new system has ensured that customers are able to view
the status of their cargo at any point, and this has
brought about much greater customer satisfaction. The
flexibility to add new functions and build interfaces
to industry partners also guarantees much more efficiency
and compliance with industry standards."
