    June 15th– 17th, 2011 Barcelona, Spain

The Eighth edition of Stay Ahead – A Kale Thought Leadership Summit was organized from 15th to 17th June, 2011 at Barcelona, Spain.

The current edition carried forward insights from the previous edition in addition to discussions over key issues by experts from the airline industry and Kale concerning the future of RA.

The Eighth edition was attended by over 30 delegates. The summit provided in-depth insights around critical components of SIS which would help participating Airlines get ready before SIS gets mandated. Also, issues like ‘CC Fraud’ & ‘Audit Best Practices’ were also deliberated at the summit.

The Stay Ahead summit has been a pioneering initiative to bring together the global revenue accounting community. Initiated in November 2008, the summits have turned out to be a unique get-together of industry decision makers geared towards facilitating a thought provoking discussion on the Future of Revenue Accounting.

Non-Transport (Miscellaneous) Billing is a recession proof revenue stream for airlines. However, lack of sufficient automation and integration has led to business issues such as inadequate control over invoicing of services, longer service to invoice cycle as well as higher rejections due to incorrect pricing.

IATA’s Simplified Interline Settlement (SIS) project has made it mandatory for all airlines and vendors to settle their Non-Transport (Miscellaneous) Billing through the SIS platform. While most airlines view this as a compulsion, we see it as an opportunity to::

    • Standardize the billing processes across multiple divisions to exercise better control over finances
    • Significantly reduce manual efforts in the billing processes, reduce rejections and plug cost leakages
    • Automate billing processes while keeping the cost of IT change minimum

The webinar had shared insights on how mandatory change can be leveraged from transforming the Non-Transport (Miscellaneous) Billing process from Stone Age To Space Age!
